Hi,
think about adding support for some global “western” payment methods. I do not remember when I used directly my card number so having it as primary one seems a little deprecated.
And only Alipay app, really?
Pay by bank app is fine, but there is more than US.
Tool working with my code targeted to only US and China seems quite suspicious.
Can you elaborate what you mean by ‘western’ payment methods?
Becuase for me as one of that group, a credit card is needed frequently in IT, most integrations use credit cards only, very few direct withdrawals from bank or ‘bank transfers’ or payment methods like PayPal (direct in platform transfers).
I assume that any additional payment method needs to be approved by the payment provider (if it exists), has certain additional cost involved or other high risks like false disputes on payments,… (like Paypal)
Alipay was likely added as other payment providers such as CC are more an issue in that country and not have as wide access. On other side several countries are covered with Alipay, not just the one you mentioned.
Can your ‘seems suspicious’ be a misunderstanding?
I mean for example Paypal, Google pay, Apple pay, Amazon Pay. I think these are mostly used payment apps. Almost every one has one of them on the phone.
“seems suspicious” is not misunderstanding, I saw cursor’s security proclamation and I know there is it runs on AWS, but in case if some part is running on Alibaba cloud, it would be issue for me personally as I do not trust this provider. And if the service uses Alipay only, it does not build much trust to me either.
I understand it’s not based on any facts but just uncomfortable feeling.
Eh, but Cursor uses Stripe so I’m not sure what you are really complaining about since Stripe even supports one-click payments so it’s not even like you need to re-input payment data multiple times plus Stripe stores the data themselves and works as a middle-man between the Subscriber, your payment method and Cursor.
It seems your problem is with China and frankly I do not want Cursor to make decisions based on politics, I have much more valid privacy concerns with Google, Apple and Amazon given their data policies and many security breaches. At-least I know Stripe is more secure than those services.
I’m trying to subscribe to Cursor but I keep getting an error that says my Visa card doesn’t support this kind of payment. This is confusing because I use the same card for other services, including those that also use Stripe as the payment processor.
Could you please help me resolve this? I’d really like to subscribe and start using Cursor, so I’d appreciate any assistance in getting my Visa card accepted.
I have the sane issue I am already a subscriber but this month myboayment is not being accepted. I have been using visa prepaid card for paying subscription for the past months no issues. I am already in touch with Sam and waiting for feedback. I am just writing this for awareness for other users who might be also having the same issue as mine.
For accounting reasons in our company, we cannot pay more than a certain amount with a card. We have Cursor Pro and also bought 50 seats, but it still takes money from our cart. Can you provide a feature for companies that we pay some money to transfer to your bank account, and it shows in our account, and when it is necessary, it reduces from that credit?
Also, “Net payment terms and method”, “Postpaid method for companies” with a contract, and “Deferred payment” will be nicer than payment with a card, especially for companies.
