First of all, thank you for developing such an excellent AI-powered code editing tool. It has greatly improved my development efficiency.
During daily use, I noticed a feature that could further enhance the user experience: I would like to suggest adding a Windows system notification to inform the user when an AI task (such as code generation, code explanation, or error fixing) is completed.
Feature Request Description:
- Current Issue:
Since AI tasks can take a considerable amount of time to complete, I often switch to other tasks and lose track of the task’s progress, which can result in inefficiency due to not knowing when the task is done.
- Feature Suggestion:
After the task is completed, Cursor could trigger a Windows system notification to inform the user that the task is finished. For example, a message like “Your task is complete, please return to check the results.”
- Possible Implementation:
If Cursor supports plugin integration, this feature could be implemented through a plugin.
Alternatively, directly integrating with Windows notification APIs (like Toast Notifications) could allow the task completion notification to be triggered automatically.
Value of This Feature:
This feature would significantly improve efficiency for developers handling multiple tasks. When waiting for longer-running AI processes, receiving a notification when the task is completed would prompt users to return to the tool without constantly checking the progress, saving time and improving workflow.
