Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Been working with Gemini 3 Flash for the last couple of days and twice now have gotten the “Agent looping detected” error. Not sure why its happening but has cost me 1.50$ so far.

Steps to Reproduce

Use cursor normally.

Expected Behavior

Agent chats don’t fail.

To help the engineers look into your specific case, could you share:

  • 1 to 2 specific prompts that trigger the looping issue
  • Whether it happens in a new Agent chat, or when switching models in an existing chat

Temporary workaround: try starting a new Agent chat (don’t switch models in an existing one) and break complex tasks into smaller steps.
