witching between the Agents Window and the classic editor is a many-times-an-hour action for me, but the only way to do it is Cmd+Shift+P → “Open IDE”. There’s no button anywhere in the Agents Window UI.
This is especially disorienting because the Agents Window has no file explorer and no Source Control panel. When I’m mid-task and want to browse my own files or look at git, I have to remember an undiscoverable command name. I genuinely thought the capability had been removed.
Request: a visible, always-present button in the Agents Window toolbar that opens the current workspace in the editor (and ideally the reverse from the editor). A default keybinding would help too.
Hey, thanks for the feature request. Good news, it’s already there.
In the Agents Window, look at the top-right corner of the chat header. There’s a small IDE ↗ button that opens (or focuses) the editor window for the current chat’s workspace. It’s dim until you hover it, so it’s easy to miss.
There’s also a default shortcut: Cmd+Shift+N on macOS (Ctrl+Shift+N on Windows/Linux), plus File → Open IDE in the menu. Going the other way, the editor window title bar has an Agents Window button, and Cmd+Alt+N (Ctrl+Alt+N) does the same.
One note: the chat header button is hidden when the sidebar is expanded to full width, when multiple chats are tiled side by side, and inside Projects. If you’re in a normal chat and still don’t see it, send a screenshot of your Agents Window and we’ll take a look.
