Right now, if I am having a long discussion with cursor char and I want to refer to a previous message that I sent it, I type out parts of message to let cursor know what message I am ferring to. But if the messages allow me to quickly copy a link to them, I can provide the link and tell cursor about which exact previous message I am referring to.
