Hey @Abdelalim_NOUBI, thanks for the report, and sorry for the trouble.
I looked at that request ID. It did reach our servers and started processing normally, so this isn’t related to your archived projects or chats. The live connection between Cursor and our servers dropped mid-request (a keepalive ping didn’t get a response in time), and we also saw one DNS lookup for our agent endpoint fail from your machine. That points to something on the network path between your computer and us (Wi-Fi, ISP, VPN, or DNS), not your account or the model.
Two things that usually fix this:
In Cursor, open Cursor Settings → Network, set HTTP Compatibility Mode to HTTP/1.1, then fully quit Cursor and reopen it.
While you’re in Settings → Network, click Run Diagnostics and, if anything fails, paste the output here with the Copy button.
If it keeps happening after that, please try turning off any VPN or proxy, switching DNS to 1.1.1.1 or 8.8.8.8, or testing once on a phone hotspot, and let me know which of those changes the behavior.
For about a week, the local Agent in the Cursor IDE is stuck on “Planning next moves” and then “Reconnecting…”. It never answers, even to a simple message like “say hello”.
What works:
Cloud Agents work fine on the same account, so my account and plan seem OK.
Cursor Settings > Network > Run Diagnostics: everything is green.
What does NOT work:
The local Agent (Agent, Ask, Plan) in the IDE, on 2 different Windows PCs.
What I already tried:
Versions: 3.20.21 and [3.19.19 / 3.18.25]
Disabled auto-update, reinstalled Cursor, cleared caches, new chat, opened an empty folder
Disable HTTP/2 and HTTP Compatibility Mode ([HTTP/1.1 and HTTP/2 tried])
Console errors (Ctrl+Shift+I > Console) when it gets stuck:
[paste the red lines here]
Could you check on your side what happens with these requests on my account?
Thank you,
abdel

No VPN, no proxy

Hey @Abdelalim_NOUBI, thanks for testing all those versions, that helps.
I checked the requests from your machine on Friday evening. They are reaching our servers on every version you tried, and several of them did complete on 3.21.13, but it took 20 to 35 seconds before the first word appeared, and in between there are pauses of about 30 seconds where no data moves between your PC and us. That pattern is the same on all four networks you used, so it points at something on the PC itself rather than your connection, your account, or a specific Cursor version.
Could you try this, in order, and tell me what happens at each step?
Fully quit Cursor (right-click the tray icon and choose Quit, or end it in Task Manager).
If you have any security software with a “web protection”, “HTTPS scanning” or “SSL/TLS filtering” feature (Kaspersky, Bitdefender, Avast, AVG, ESET, Norton, McAfee, etc.), temporarily turn that feature off.
Start Curso
Open an empty folder, start a new chat with the model set to Auto, type “say hello” and send it.
Does a reply arrive, and roughly how long did it take?
