I was reading About Claude's Max Plan Usage | Claude Help Center, and was wondering if this is a good/economic choice for Cursor or not.

so far the performance was impressive compared to cursor

in claude code feels like we always using Cursor Max Mode hahaha

It is assuring to know, that the bank is not breaking because of extreme usage. My expenditure was very high last month. I can say +200 USD. The Anthropic Max Plan delivers the same service with a lower cost. I just need to know if Cursor can use Anthropic url and key to integrate, and if Claude runs in Agent mode.

Any experimentation with that?

I would like to know this too can I put my Max Plan API key in Cursor as part of the $200 month subscription fee?

I have switched to Ultra plan now, the same cost, and it is very convenient.

So I tried this this morning, and it bills it separately for the API key, AFAICT your $200 max plan is useless if you want to use Cursor. If I’m wrong please tell me so I can fix it :')

That wasn’t what I meant. Instead of going for the Anthropic Max plan, I chose the Cursor Ultra Plan. Then you get flat rate access.

Until such a time cursor starts being more transparent, there is no chance I’m handing them 200$ a month.

I have reduced my costs by choosing this plan. I was paying way more. Transparency to the side, I am saving now.

Which is great, but I want to know what I’m getting for my money. 3x, 20x is subjective when you have zero base to work upon.

You can fire away with all you want. No extra costs.

Maybe one month yet ultra and push it to the limits to see truly how unlimited it is. Maybe the ultra accounts refill rates are more generous.

I have some experience with it and cancelled + do not recommend it. Unless you’re a power-user and know how to do all the bleeding edge Claude App integrations/connections I’d say its not really worth it unless you want to spend 20 minutes per prompt.

The context that Cursor manages for us is a lot better than Claude for sweeping codebase changes. Depends on your use-case
