Manual changes to the code between individual prompts (of the same chat) are currently ignored by Cursor. When it realises that a file changed, it attempts to revert it instead of accepting the changes, which is working against the developer.
How I imagine that the user action awareness feature would work is something like
Real-time awareness of Windsurf. In fact, Cursor lacking this feature is the last thing that keeps me from fully migrating to Cursor.
Here are two examples of when Cursor didn’t understand my changes. First is a regular refactoring in a single file and the second is file renames, where Cursor misinterpreted them as file deletions.
