i created an IAM user for AWS Bedrock API key usage but after i connected my bedrock, i can not use us.anthropic.claude-opus-4-1-20250805-v1:0 model. its automatically convert itself to claude 3.5 or 3.7.

also is it possible to turn on “thinking mode” for aws bedrock imported claude models ?

Steps to Reproduce

create an IAM user from AWS. connect it to cursor and write down inference profile. try to chat with claude opus 4.1 and it does not work.

Does this stop you from using Cursor

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

hi @sammcro and thank you for the bug report. I will pass the info to our developers.

hello @condor ,

any update on this problem? I’m getting the same issue but I can’t use Cursor with Bedrock with it, I keep getting “the model does not work with your current plan or api key” although I do have all the permissions to use the model that I want (including Bedrock model access, IAM User with the correct permissions, etc..)

Hey, most likely your API key didn’t pass verification and you’re trying to use a model in Cursor that isn’t included in your subscription, which is why you’re getting this error. Make sure you have a valid API key, try regenerating your key, and enable it again.
