Background Agent connection failed

Provide a clear description of the bug
When trying to launch a background agent, after already successfully setting one up via the configuration and setting up the base environment + snapshot, I get the following error and a background agent does not spin up.
Connection failed. If the problem persists, please check your internet connection or VPN
Failed to start Background Agent. [internal] internal error

Explain how to reproduce the bug (if known)

1. Connect a github account and repo
2. Configure a snapshot and runtime configuration that properly works when going through the interactive mode
3. Give any prompt and try to launch a background agent

OS: Mac Darwin arm64 24.4.0

Additional Notes:
I have already tried disabling http2, and I’m not on a vpn or corporate network or anything. I have also tried restarting cursor, and my entire machine as well to verify it isn’t an issue on my end.

Yes I’m still seeing this same issue even in 1.1.2

Also getting a similar error.

The error is ACROSS machines.

Background agents started failing now i can only launch a background agent 1/20 times.

Started happening on my windows box, now it happens on mac m1, which i’ve never used to code before.
