Background Agent Made — Remove the default to "main" branch

Would be great if we could control which branch is defaulted (or set no default branch) for background agents.
Recurring issue of a developer accidentally running their bg agents from main accidentally..

You can set the Default branch in:

  • Desktop: Settings > Background Agents
  • Dashboard: Background Agents

Thanks I can see it in the web dashboard but not in the app. (perhaps its beta)

Would be great if we could set the default branch to “mustSelectEachTime” or similar.

Which Cursor version do you use currently?

For the must select branch feature, we will consider it.

You are right, the feature is only in Dashboard > Background Agents.

I’ve removed it from my previous comment as it was a mistake.
