I wanted to open the chrome browser window, so I tried using the view > appearance option. It opened the browser-in-a-tab on my second monitor. I closed the tab and the content of the tab is now stuck overlaying the whole left side of the main Cursor window!
I tried
restarting the app
force killing all possible chrome/extension instances and it remains there
I got out of it. I don’t know what chain of clicks got me there. I just noticed once I put all windows on the same monitor, and clicked around the window menu options (bring all to front, combine, etc), I may have tried to open the browser tab again….regardless I noticed the second window had a browser tab again, while the content was still overlaying the main window, and when I closed the tab in the second window, the content over the main window went away.
You can close this issue. However, I have seen quite a lot of issues come up when using a second window, or when that second window is also on another monitor. As just one example, I reported fix-in-chat doesn’t work from a second window resulting in a semi-corrupt prompt field until a lot of clicking and deleting seems to clean it.
Please get some of the team to work dual monitor for a while!
