Browser tab stealing focus on hot reload

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Cursor IDE

Describe the Bug

Hello. Trying out a workflow with a split pane, editor on the left and browser tab on the right. As soon as the browser does a hot reload after I’ve edited code in the editor, the browser seems to steal focus.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Set up a web project (e.g: in my case, Astro)
  2. Set up split panes - editor on left pane, browser on right pane (browser opened by opening the agent pane and starting a Cursor browser tab).
  3. Run dev server for web project with hot reloading.
  4. Edit text in the left editor pane. Browser steals focus, blocking continuous editing.

Expected Behavior

Browser to hot reload while user continues editing, not stealing focus.

Does this stop you from using Cursor

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

Hey, thanks for the report. This is related to a known focus and keyboard handling issue with the browser tab in Cursor 2.0.

The browser tab is capturing focus and keyboard events when it shouldn’t. I’ll escalate your hot reload issue to the engineering team as part of this broader problem.
