[Bug] Agents window shows only menu bar; main content area is completely blank

Describe the Bug

When I open the Agents window, the window only shows the native menu bar (File / Edit / View / Help) and the window controls. The entire main content area below the menu bar is completely blank (solid light gray/off-white): no Agents UI, no sidebar, no loading indicator, and no error message. I use a personal account (not a Team). The main Cursor IDE window works for normal editing; the issue is specifically this Agents window not rendering any content.
Additionally, after choosing/selecting a folder or workspace directory (when the flow asks for a directory), nothing happens—there is still no UI update and no visible response; the window remains blank.

Steps to Reproduce

1.Launch Cursor IDE on Windows (stable channel).
2.Open the Agents window (Command Palette → Agents / Agents Window, or your usual entry).
3.When prompted to select a folder or directory (or pick a workspace), complete the selection.
4.Expected: The Agents UI should load for that folder. Actual: No change—the main area stays completely blank; no error, no loading state.
(If your flow does not ask for a folder, keep steps 1–3 and add: “If a directory picker appears at any point, selecting a directory has no effect.”)

Hey, I see the screenshot. The Agents Window is completely blank, only the menu bar.

A couple things to try:

You’re on a Windows Insider build 10.0.26200. The Agents Window uses Mica effects for rendering, and on Windows preview builds this can break. If you can test on a stable Windows build, that’d help confirm it.
Try disabling hardware acceleration: open the main Cursor window, open the Command Palette with Ctrl+Shift+P, run Preferences: Open User Settings (JSON), and add:

```
Fully restart Cursor, then try opening the Agents Window again.
I can see there’s DevTools console output in the screenshot, but it’s hard to read due to the composite image scaling. Can you copy the error text (the red lines) from the Console and paste it here? That’ll help narrow down the cause.
Also try closing and reopening the Agents Window. There was a similar bug where the first open rendered blank, and reopening worked fine.

Hi,

Thanks again for the earlier suggestions. I tried disabling hardware acceleration ("disable-hardware-acceleration": true in User Settings JSON), fully restarted Cursor, and reopened the Agents window multiple times. The Agents panel is still completely blank (only the menu bar). I’m on Windows Insider build 10.0.26200.

There are also warnings about anysphere.remote-ssh API proposals vs product.json, and Node punycode deprecation — I assume those are secondary.

Could you advise whether the blank Agents UI might be tied to TrustedScript, account/team context, or stale/missing conversation streams on the server side? Any workaround (e.g. sign out/in, clear session, or non-Insider Windows) would be appreciated.

Thanks for the DevTools logs, that’s exactly what we needed.

The key error here is:

This document requires 'TrustedScript' assignment. The action has been blocked.

It shows up twice in the very first lines and most likely blocks the React UI from loading in the Agents Window. The other errors (team member, not_found, conversation stream) are probably just follow-ups because the window never initialized.

The team command errors (You must be a team member) are expected on a Free account and shouldn’t affect anything.

A few things to try:

Try launching Cursor with a flag that disables Trusted Types enforcement:
```
cursor --disable-features=TrustedDOMTypes
```
After that, open the Agents Window and check if the UI shows up.
Another option: if you’re on Windows Insider build 26200, this might be specific to that build. If you can test on a stable Windows version, that would help confirm.
Also try signing out and signing back in via Cursor Settings, just in case it’s an auth state issue.

Let me know if --disable-features=TrustedDOMTypes helps.

Hi, thanks — I tried both suggestions but the Agents window is still blank.

I launched Cursor with --disable-features=TrustedDOMTypes (confirmed the flag was applied) and reopened the Agents window — still only the menu bar.
I signed out and signed back in — no change.
I’m still on Windows Insider build 10.0.26200.
Hardware acceleration is disabled ("disable-hardware-acceleration": true) and I fully restarted Cursor.

DevTools Console still shows the same top error: This document requires 'TrustedScript' assignment. The action has been blocked.

I see that neither --disable-features=TrustedDOMTypes nor disabling hardware acceleration helped. The TrustedScript error is still blocking the UI from loading.

A couple things to try:

Try fully uninstalling and reinstalling Cursor. Sometimes cached files from updates stick around and cause conflicts. Before reinstalling, delete %APPDATA%\Cursor and %LOCALAPPDATA%\cursor. Make a backup first, just in case.
Most important, try Cursor on a stable Windows build, not Insider. You’re on build 10.0.26200, which is a Windows Insider Preview, and Chromium can be unstable on preview builds. If the issue goes away on stable Windows, it’ll confirm it’s an Insider build compatibility problem.

Let me know if you can test it on stable Windows.

If you uninstall the cursor and then reinstall it, will the extensions and configurations be lost?

With a standard reinstall uninstall + install, extensions and settings are kept because they live in %APPDATA%\Cursor and %USERPROFILE%\.cursor, and the uninstaller doesn’t touch those folders.

But in my previous message I suggested manually deleting %APPDATA%\Cursor and %LOCALAPPDATA%\cursor. That will wipe your settings and the extensions cache. If you want to keep them, back up those folders before deleting.

That said, I’d first recommend trying a stable Windows build. The TrustedScript assignment blocked error is related to how Chromium enforces the Trusted Types policy, and Windows Insider build 10.0.26200 may handle this differently than stable builds. If you can test on stable Windows, not Insider, that’d be the most useful test. If the issue goes away on stable Windows, it’s very likely caused by the Insider build.

Let me know if you can check that.
