Hey,
I’m a big fan since the start but this update (0.40.1) just made things worse than better, sad to see.
Besides the claude 3.5 worse output which some people experience for their webversion too (but api seems to be fine). Maybe biased because our projects grew bigger but according to my memory I just could use the output in 85%+ cases and now maybe in 10% without multiple iterations and corrections.
Feels like I got a lot slower working towards finishing my project now.
And here are my notes to composer and the new chat ux:
composer
- horizontal scrollbar would be good to be able to check code changes completely
- change created file path including imports without rewriting the whole file and updating the imports in the other touched files if a file was created in a wrong folder
- after I asked for the recreation of the new middleware in another folder (and mistakly accepted both of the middleware files) I couldnt save/accept the other 2 edited files. just didnt respond to clicking on save.
- regenerated the files because of the save error and would have wished that im able to delete the middleware file that was created in the wrong folder out of the composer.
Now I had both middleware files regenerated with every message even if I just wanted the two other files regenerated bc I couldnt save them before - close composer minimizes it instead of closing it
- cant paste cursor copied text in composer chat, but copied text in my browser was fine (at least after it was maxed/minimized)
new chat ux
- new chat its potentially nice that I can add files manually now but it feels clunky having all quotes etc there too even after changing them.
Maybe make the context files list minimizable or sth. horror on a 15" inch display
Why do i have to delete all pasted logs from the terminal? They clutter the context and are irrelevant after implementing the suggested fix and a server restart (working with nodejs).
Why would I need them to be persistant in the chat? - also chat doesnt scroll down if I wait for an answer (auto scroll feature?) and now almost 1/3 of my display contains the file list that is shown 2 times (for the last message and for the new message I can write)
- and why is always the whole functoin that we change cited? Its nice to see where to change code but just give me 1 or 2 lines above/below? its enough to find the right place
and i have the function in the most cases already in front of my eyes in a editor window.
Also copied the existing code instead of the new code a few times now
System Info attached, all updates installed.
Wonders me why twitter is currently finding and praising cursor but I’m experiencing so much unpleasant changes with this update.
