Can multiple people use one Cursor account?

Hi! I have a Pro+ subscription and I usually use Cursor on my main account.

Sometimes I let my siblings use it temporarily when I’m not actively working. I wanted to ask if it’s okay for multiple people to use the same account at the same time, or if that could cause any issues with the account or usage limits.

I’m the main user and I use it most of the time, but I’m trying to avoid needing to buy separate subscriptions for each person if it’s not necessary. Would that be considered fine, or is there any restriction I should be aware of?

Thanks a lot!

Hi @Natan_Valim_Cardoso Thank you for coming to the forum and asking.

Account sharing is against the Cursor terms of service, you can read more here: Cursor · Terms of Service

We do have measures in place to protect against abuse, as a heads up. The best thing would be for your siblings to create their own accounts.

Hello Kevin,

Thank you for your explanation,

may I ask you if you could provide an exact paragraph/section (sorry, I’m not sure how those are called exactly) stating exactly that? Because I’ve been trying to read and find this in the ToS, but haven’t succeeded…

Have you meant the very part in the Use Restrictions “(iii) rent, lease, lend, or sell the Service;”? That’s what I thought, but it find it odd to be true, that’s why I decided to write and clarify it with you.

Thank you in advance!

Hello! I had a good answer to that type of question here: API / SDK - Terms of use - Question - #4 by kevinn

It’s a standard policy across the industry.
