Can't access older chats

I’m experiencing an issue where I cannot access my previous chat history in Cursor. When I try to open any old chat, it gets stuck on the loading page for a brief moment, then instead of displaying the previous conversation, it redirects me to a “create new chat” page.

I’ve attempted to access old chats across all my Cursor projects and consistently encounter the same problem. The app appears to be unable to load any historical conversation data, effectively making all my previous chat history inaccessible.

This issue persists after multiple attempts and occurs with every project in my workspace. The loading animation appears briefly before redirecting to a new chat page instead of retrieving the requested conversation history.

:prohibited: It doesn’t stop me from using Cursor, but it’s definitely frustrating since I can only use the Cursor IDE not VS Code due to the environment of my project (in a game engine that doesn’t fully support Cursor).

A very common bug which happens a lot when updates happened which is why I disabled my updates. There is NO backup/Restore option for chat in this event which would be a well overdue feature so this doesnt happen in the future.

I’ve noticed this usually happens when Cursor stops responding and I have to forcefully close it. It doesn’t seem to occur during regular updates, most of mine have gone smoothly.
