Can't empty / remove quote from composer

Hello there,
After quoting something from the composer chat, I wanted to move on without the quoted parts, so just remove the snippet with a click on the X. It doesn’t work. I also cant change anything that is inside the quote when I open it. Is there a trick or is this a bug?

Hey, that’s strange. Have you tried deleting the context by pressing the Backspace key?

I just tried and unfortunately, backspace didn’t help. I don’t like to send oversized prompts/messages, but also not start a new composer due to the hard work I already invested in the project I’m working on.

Is this issue bothering you? What happens when interacting with the model? Does it reference this quote?

Based on the most recent reply, it does not reference. But it’s still there and so far it makes me unsure if there could be an effect or if I submit more text than I originally want and need to.
By the way, I tried out what happens if I add a second quote, if I can remove it. Result: nope, it also stays there and is unremovable like the first one.

I am also having this issue

Creating a new composer should solve this problem.

Hey,

I’ve passed this to the team internally to look into this!
As @deanrie suggests, creating a new composer or chat session with the plus (+) icon in the top right should force Cursor to remove all context!

Will loop back in if/when I know more.

This happens to me as well. @danperks if i create a new composer, would I lose all the context of everything I have been doing in this project? Been busy for a while.

You would lose the context of the chat/composer, but we usually recommend starting a new chat or composer every so often anyway, as the quality of the context degrades as it grows in size.

To keep the context strong, so people use a file to store project information, and instruct the Composer to update the file every so often, so you can @ it back in if you start a new composer.

Thanks @danperks
I did not create a project file, and I am at a point where my composer does not want to return anything. The proverbial “silent treatment”. Learning as I go, thanks for the help.
