Yes, I have the same problem here. It persists, I can’t use Gemini 2.5 Flash in “ask” mode twice behind. No matter for which input, the problem occurs every time.

Same with me, it’s been more than 3 weeks since I got this issue. That’s why I’m always using Claude Sonnet instead of Gemini.

A similar issue occurs with the model gemini 2.5 flash preview 04 17.
The cause of the problem appears to be:

  1. A new chat is opened.
  2. A question is asked in ‘agent’ mode.
  3. The model thinks and responds, but does not apply the changes.
  4. Any following questions in the chat are blocked and trigger an error.

If the model successfully applies the changes, then subsequent questions in the chat are processed without any errors.

any dev seeing this yet?

Hey, yes, we’re already looking into it.

Great, thank you, fyi problem persists on the last version 0.49.6

Yeah, having the same issue on Flash 2.5. Tried disabling MCP as suggested in the error, but still getting the error on every second message on using Flash. Please look into it and resolve it as soon as possible.
Thanks!
