Can't reset context or make a new chat while maintaining context

Describe the Bug

It used to be the case that when context was filling up, something would appear in bottom right saying new chat and if i clicked that it would compact the current conversation like claude code. Now that doesn’t appear and if i type /reset context and click it then nothing happens… Cursor has got really buggy these days and almost unusable because of this now.

Steps to Reproduce

Try a long conversation, new chat button doesnt appear in bottom right, try /reset context, nothing happens. I’m using a custom openai key, dont know if this is why

Hi, its not there for me and clicking reset context does nothing, just brings it back to

The update doesnt even work… if I check for updates and then it restarts to update, it stays on 1.5.11… Do I really have to reinstall? I’ll presumably lose my chats, cursorrules etc etc.
