Hey @Logan_Geng! This isn’t anything on your side. On Grok 4.6 and 4.7, some replies are currently arriving with the answer but no thinking section, so switching to another model (like Composer or Gemini) should bring it back for now. We’ve let the team know and it’s an issue we’re tracking. I’ll post here when there’s an update.

Thanks a lot. I understand X has its commercial strategy about hiding thoughts from being stolen, but for us thoughts is really important to improve our work quality and improve our AI work flow. Brief thought is really significant for users, thanks again for share users opinion with the grok staff.:grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Hey @Logan_Geng!

Thanks for flagging this, a fix is rolling out now!

This affected Grok 4.6 and 4.7. The models were always thinking; the reasoning just wasn’t being displayed. In other words, this was a UX issue only and didn’t impact output quality.

Oddly enough, it shows up halfway through the thought process, but sometimes disappears when it’s finally over.

Hey @ri_do,

The earlier issue in this thread (thinking missing on Grok 4.6 and 4.7 replies) has been fixed. What you’re describing sounds like how the thinking section is meant to work: while a step is in progress, its thinking streams open in the chat, and once that step finishes it collapses into a small “Thought for Ns” row above the reply. Clicking that row expands it so you can read the thinking again.
