Hi everyone,
I’m reporting a bug I’ve found in Cursor. Below is all the required information to help diagnose the issue:
Forum Check: I have checked the forum, and this issue hasn’t been reported yet.
Bug Description:
When using the Composer or Chat on macOS, pressing Ctrl+A behaves as if I pressed Cmd+A, resulting in the selection of all text. However, on macOS, Ctrl+A is expected to move the cursor to the start of the text (beginning of the line). The same behavior occurs with Ctrl+R acting like Cmd+R. It seems that both the Ctrl and Cmd keys are treated the same, regardless of the platform.
Steps to Reproduce:
- Open Composer or Chat in Cursor on a macOS device.
- Type any text.
- Press Ctrl+A (or Ctrl+R).
- Observe that the shortcut behaves like Cmd+A (or Cmd+R), selecting all text instead of moving the cursor to the start of the text.
System Details:
- Operating System: macOS 15.3 (24D60)
- Cursor Version: 0.45.8
Impact on Usage:
This bug does not completely prevent me from using Cursor, but it interferes with the expected behavior of keyboard shortcuts on macOS.
Thank you for looking into this issue. Please let me know if you need any additional information.
Best regards,
Marc
