Provide a clear description of the bug
MCP server runs and tools are located, but Cursor freezes when attempting to use them. The mcp server works in Claude Desktop.
Explain how to reproduce the bug (if known)
- Follow the instructions on the github; GitHub - Simon-Kansara/ableton-live-mcp-server: MCP Server implementation for Ableton Live OSC control
- run the ‘osc_daemon’ and config Claude / Cursor
- Start a clean instance of Cursor, verify mcp server loads successfully and that the “get_track_names” tool is seen.
- Open chat, Agent mode, Auto select; ask it to get track names; no response on OSC Daemon; frozen chat
- Kill Cursor
- Open Cursor Desktop, validate it sees the tool
- Ask to get track names; see activity in OSC Daemon (the response will fail for other reasons)
