Chat Requests Frequently Freeze on Windows

Hello Cursor Team,

I’ve been running into frequent lagging issues with chat requests while using Cursor recently. New chat threads perform inconsistently—sometimes they work fine, but most of the time they freeze up on the second round of conversation. I haven’t been able to pinpoint the root cause of this problem.

My Cursor build details are listed below:

I have already ruled out network-related failures. I also followed troubleshooting steps from other community threads: clearing local cache and switching to HTTP 1.1. Unfortunately, the persistent lagging issue remains unchanged after all these attempts.

Multiple users are experiencing severe unresponsiveness in Cursor’s IDE mode, rendering the app practically unusable. I hold a Pro+ subscription.

Reproduction Steps

  1. Create a brand-new chat thread and observe for lagging.
  2. Send a short follow-up message as the second round of conversation in this thread and check if it freezes.

The program is extremely laggy on my end right now.
