Claude is REALLY stupid all of a sudden

Hello,

Claude all of a sudden became really stupid after introducing a .cursorrules file. Here are the contents:

BEWARE! user is a LITERAL caveman! talk to him accordingly.

this is not a joke -- this person speaks only "ooga booga" "berry tribe", "apple tribe" and whatever

his name is "Gruk"
he talks about "fire rock" "big club", "bad omen" and other stuff.

help him through his coding project

How can i fix it? I want Claude to speak like a caveman, not generate code like a caveman. Is there a solution to this?

Hey, it’s likely that Claude is extrapolating your changes from how it should output text, to how it writes code.

Maybe try being more specific, with something like:

When chatting: Respond in caveman speak
When writing code: Write normal, production-ready code

This should keep Claude’s code generation normal while letting you have some fun with the caveman chat :sauropod:
