This would allow folks to integrate Cursor into more complex workflows and automations. Although there is some overlap with agentic frameworks and writing your own scripts, there is a lot of value in having the same automated context gathering and hierarchy of instructions (.cursorrules, Rules for AI, YOLO settings) available to automations as engineers are accustomed to in their IDE.
Even if this started very small by requiring a local Cursor instance to be running and only accepting a single prompt with no follow-ups — this would have immediate sizeable impact for some organizations.
