Code blocks doesn't show in Chat panel

Describe the Bug

When Cursor generates responses in the chat interface, all code blocks are hidden and don’t display properly. However, when I switch to “Open Chat as Editor,” the code blocks appear normally. Oddly, if I continue using Chat as Editor, new responses hide the code blocks again. To see them, I have to switch back to “Open Chat in Pane.” Every time a new response comes up, I’m stuck toggling between these two modes just to view the code blocks. Inline code snippets, however, display without any issues.

Steps to Reproduce

  • Cursor version: 1.3.2 (Universal)
  • macOS: 26 beta 4 (M1 chip)
  • Ask something in the Chat that the answer contains code blocks. Most of the code blocks are hidden.

Expected Behavior

All code blocks should be shown.

Does this stop you from using Cursor

Yes - Cursor is unusable

Im getting this issue too, very unusable currently

Quick workarounds to try first:

  • Restart Cursor completely - many users reported that this worked

If the issue persists:

This appears to be related to other recent reports in the community. I think the team is working on a fix.

Let us know if rolling back resolves it! :+1:
