Describe the Bug

During the use of cursor, I experience lags and complete freeze of the computer on Intel Mac 2019.
This does not happen with Vscode, even though in VScode I have many extentions and I didn’t import any extension to Cursor.
The entire computer simply freezes during usage, up to the point that nothing can be done on the computer and even the mouse clicks are not registered.

Steps to Reproduce

Use Cursor on an Intel Mac 2019:
Processor: 3.6 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9
Graphics: Radeon Pro Vega 48 8 GB
Memory: 64 GB 2667 MHz DDR4
Startup Disk: SSD
MacOs: 15.0 (24A335)

Expected Behavior

don’t lag and don’t make the entire computer freeze

Does this stop you from using Cursor

Sometimes - I can sometimes use Cursor

+1 – I updated to 44.8 on my two basically identical windows, HP Omen laptops…

BOTH of them full blackscreened while using cursor at different points, within an hour of updating to 44.8 - and within an hour of each-other. (cursor has never crashed else)

I cant recall exactly what task I was performing, but most likely telling Composer Agent to Keep YOLOing or something…

Anyplace I cant check logs?

would it be in any of these:

OK maybe not within an hour of the update… Time flies in YOLO mode.

Hello, sorry for asking but are you referring only to windows os ?
Just checking cause I opened this topic about Mac os.

Im talking about windows – but if you updated to 44.8 on mac, and I did so on windows - and we both experienced full machine freezes on (1) mac and (2) windows machines… the bug might be bigger than some mac-specific thingy…

so I was +1 context.

The issue is on Intel mac. same version has no issues on my M1 mac.
This is very specific and there is no connection between mac os to windows os and between intel to M1 cpu. those are different architectures of cpu and different operating systems which have their own application (cursor)

So this topic is specifically about Intel Mac OS only.
Hope that is more clear.

FWIW, I am running the same version of Cursor with similar hardware as you but OS 14 and no issues:

MacBook Pro
16-inch, 2019

Processor
2.3 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9

Graphics
AMD Radeon Pro 5500M 8 GB
Intel UHD Graphics 630 1536 MB

Memory
64 GB 2667 MHz DDR4

macOS
Sonoma 14.7.1

Hey, try clearing the cache, it might help.

Not relevant I think.
See the screenshot I Attached. as soon as I use the Chat to generate anything the cpu usage goes wild. if it was related to cache/extension it would behave like this all the time. but it only happens when I use the Cursor chat.
Also I mentioned cursor is a clean install (I didn’t import any extensions from VScode)

Can you check the logs and errors in the DevTools panel?

There are no logs or errors that I can see.
If there is anything specific that I should check please do let me know
