Compose 2.5 Hallucinating more compared to 2

I was using Composer recently for some simpler coding tasks and general code cleanup. It started thinking for way too long, then just began spewing garbage. Thought it was kind of funny.

Has anyone else noticed this happening more often with 2.5 compared to 2?

Yes it does, I have a feeling its due to the large context of the codebase even if I directly mention the file with the error and point it in all the right directions to fix the issues it seems to get lost exploring the connected modules and files until I assume the context gets full and then it will just go on with text like this for multiple minutes before stopping.

Thanks for confirming. That could be the case. Can you scope the workspace folder down to a subset? (e.g. do you have a giant root folder ?)

To disable Privacy Mode:

  1. Open Cursor Settings with Cmd+Shift+J on macOS or Ctrl+Shift+J on Windows/Linux.
  2. Go to General.
  3. Turn Privacy Mode off / switch to Share Data.

To get the Request ID:

  1. Open the relevant conversation in the Chat sidebar.
  2. Click the ... menu.
  3. Select Copy Request ID.
