Composer 1 is for sure slower, after becoming paid

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Cursor IDE

Describe the Bug

Composer 1 was much snappier and felt smarter up until recently. That’s also the time when it became paid.

Now I have no idea if it will become as smart as it was after paying, or not.

Steps to Reproduce

Operating System

MacOS

Does this stop you from using Cursor

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

I’ve seen this behavior in other startups

Where they let you have the best taste of the tools just to get you hooked. I hope that’s not the case with our Cursor Team. I was really surprised by how young most of the master developers are, but maturity is not guaranteed by physical age. This means you can have an older friend—say, 70 years old—and still find them partial and dishonest, or you can have a younger friend who is truly mature, impartial (goodness for all, not just some), and honest (no matter how much material gain, they remain honest).

In my experience, most corporations implode due to their own corruption, and usually younger CEOs tend to be easily sucked into materialism and love for money. Hopefully this comment reaches them, and maybe I can persuade them to do all things with the goal of edifying humanity. But it’s difficult to do, especially with corporations aligned with authority in high places—just look at what happened to TikTok now under Oracle’s control.

Hey there @rohovdmytro the pricing and speed doesn’t affect the way the model is smarter or not, sometimes when you have memories and other rules attached to your workspace or your projects, usually tagging or deleting previous conversations clears up the cache which causes the IDE to be a bit more faster than usual but this turns to be placebo, since model it’s always the same speed.

Hey, thanks for the report. To understand whether something has actually changed in Composer’s behavior, please share:

  • Request IDs from recent Composer sessions where you noticed the worse behavior (Chat menu → Copy Request ID)
  • Concrete examples of what got worse - what is Composer doing now that’s different from how it worked before?
  • When you first noticed these changes

Let me know what you’re able to gather.
