Only showing Composer 2 Fast. Also we can we start supporting composer 2 slow in subagents ?
Hi @rishabhmor Thanks for the forum post. Composer 2 regular (non-fast) mode is still supported, you just need to hover over the model picker, Press Edit, and you can toggle Fast Mode on or Off.
Thanks a lot @kevinn . Any plans to add normal composer 2 in subagents ? It would be a game changer. Today only fast mode is there
Hi @rishabhmor There is a way you can force custom Subagents to use Composer 2 regular if you would like. When designing your custom subagent you can either choose model inherit, (and use Composer 2 regular in the main agent) or you can explicitly configure a custom subagent with the older `model: composer-2` slug, that points to regular Composer 2.
If you choose Composer 2 in the dropdown, it would default to Composer 2 fast.
Hi @Kevin I tried that but did not work out. Its using composer 2 fast only ![]()
i want to not use inherit method, i want to use some other model, spawning composer 2 as subagent
Hi @rishabhmor ,
We just launched a new feature this week that allows you to change the Default Explore Subagent! So you can ignore the older information up above, that was a temporary workaround for the explore subagent.
Now, you can go to Cursor Settings → Agents and select the default Explore Subagent, including Composer 2 Regular. You may need to hover over Composer 2 fast briefly and then press Edit to Toggle the Fast option on or off.
let me know if you have any follow-up questions!
Hi @kevinn thanks for this.
Two things here, the explore subagent despite showing composer2, defaults to composer-2-fast.
Can we please debug this ? Also it would be great , if we could bring this to the specialized subagents. Although specialized subagents can now use haiku, so thats great. Composer 2 Slow if we can add, that would be equally awesome. Or allow the reasoning toggle in specialized subagents too, i can use sonnet with low reasoning invoked by sonnet with high reasoning then
