I am trying to evaluate context window usage for each conversation. Currently, it displays the percentage used and—for categories like rules, skills, MPC, etc.—the token count.
Hi @Juliano_Teixeira Thanks for the post! The tray in your screenshot is the only built-in breakdown today: how full the window is, plus a token count per category. There is not currently a view that lists the individual rules, skills, or MCP items inside those rows, and there is nothing to change in your setup.
What each row usually contains:
Rules: full text of every Always rule, plus the description for Agent Decides rules. Those pull in the full text only when the agent decides they are relevant, or when you @-mention them. See the list under Customize, then Rules.
Skills: name and description only. The body loads when the agent reads the skill, and that read is counted under Conversation, not Skills.
MCP: instructions and the tool catalog for enabled servers, under Cursor Settings, then Tools & MCP.
To measure one item: new chat, send “hi”, note the numbers. Turn off one rule, skill, or MCP server, open another new chat, send “hi” again, and compare. Shortening Always rules, or switching ones you do not need every turn to Agent Decides, is usually the biggest change for the Rules row.
