After updating Cursor to version 1.4.2 tonight, I encountered an issue where I couldn’t open new project directories using “Open Project” in Cursor.
Steps to Reproduce
Moreover, after attempting to open a new project directory, I found that I couldn’t reopen old project directories either.
If I close and restart Cursor, I can open old projects from the “Recent Projects” list. However, if I try to open a directory via “Open Project” or “File > Open Folder,” it fails. After such a failure, even clicking on projects in the “Recent Projects” list no longer works—unless I close and reopen Cursor again.

Current Cursor Version (Menu → About Cursor → Copy)
Hey, that’s quite strange. I just checked and it’s working for me. Could you try dragging the folder into Cursor? Maybe an error message will appear, or it might fix the issue with opening the project.
Drag the folder to Cursor to add it to the current workspace - this works fine. I’ve also found that you can right-click on the corresponding folder and select “Open with Cursor,” which perfectly solves the issue of the “Open project” button in Cursor being unable to open folders.
