Cursor 2.3: Command Center no longer appears in the top bar, preventing forward/back navigation buttons (regression from 2.2)

Hi,

I have just installed the latest version of Cursor and am facing an issue where Command Control disappears immediately after launching the application.

@deanrie I am using Windows, and I have double-checked that:

  • I am in Editor Mode

  • Command Control is enabled in the settings

Despite this, the issue persists. Could you please suggest the correct solution to resolve this problem?

Thank you.

Hey, I see a few users are still running into this issue. Quick check:

If the buttons aren’t visible at all: you’re most likely in Agent view. Switch to Editor view with Cmd/Ctrl + E and the buttons should show up.

Known bug: the navigation buttons show up when the agent is on the left, but disappear when the agent is on the right. The team is tracking this and it’ll be fixed in upcoming releases.

@ntz @Red_Sun @Muhammad_Faizan try Cmd/Ctrl + E and see what happens.

@Red_Sun, about your request on workspace settings: if you can share a screenshot or a video showing what happens to the settings on startup, that would help the team investigate.

I’m in editor mode, and I’m talking about the known bug.

>navigation buttons show up when the agent is on the left, but disappear when the agent is on the right. The team is tracking this and it’ll be fixed in upcoming releases.

this is forcing me to use in a completely reversed interface to what I’m familiar with, just to have the navigation buttons that I really need.

WHEN is that going to be fixed?

Any update on this bug? It’s a pretty major one to have in prod for a full week

Thanks for the ⌘E suggestion to bring back the command center. That’ll work for now, but I would like to adopt the new layout controls (the Agent/Editor/Zen/Browser) options. Could I request that the command center be re-added for that mode & those layouts? I specifically use the "debug.toolBarLocation": "commandCenter", option, like @Red_Sun references above, in my settings.json and it depends on the presence of the command center. Judging by the changes to use the new mode/layouts by default, it seems like you guys may be moving away from having the editor mode and I don’t want this functionality to be lost! Thanks in advance. Hope it’s not too much work to re-add with the new mode/layouts (as other have said, the command center appears briefly on window reload but disappears quickly).

Hey there!

I can’t reproduce this on 2.4. Could you let us know if you’re still facing the issue?
