Cursor agent cli can not work

Issue: agent cli can not work

Version: 2026.01.23-916f423

When planning to using the cursor agent cli, typing “agent ‘hello’”

  1. Hello: the mac cmd line tells me i need to login first(which already handled).
  2. Login: the chrome guides me touching the ok button at the cursor sign in page, and feedback shows it is successful.
  3. Fail: after that, comming back to the cli, weird thing happens: the cmd line ui would always tells me the result is “Login failed or timed out.”.

Does anyone met this senario ?

One more thing: the “agent update” would always shows trying, but nothing happens or changes.

Wanna get help from nice guy for this issue !

Hi @cc_Micheal, it seems like you are running an extremely outdated version of the cli! I recommend you to update it by running the same script you did to install it, version should look like something like 2026.5.20… instead of 2026.1.23
