Describe the Bug

The chat stays open and even though I close it every time it pops up on restart. This usually happens after a long time of not opening Cursor.

Steps to Reproduce

Close the chat and try to open the app the next day, the chat will pop up.

Operating System

Windows 10/11

Current Cursor Version (Menu → About Cursor → Copy)

Hey, thanks for the report. This isn’t a bug. The chat always opens when Cursor restarts. We might add an option to save the sidebar state in the future.

This only happens after I’ve left Cursor unused for a long time. For example, if I close the app and open it the next day, the chat window pops up automatically. But if I close the chat and restart the app right away, it doesn’t pop up again.
