First of all, hello! I really enjoy using the Cursor AI program. However, there is one point that I keep protesting about, and despite repeatedly reminding the system with .cursorrules, it still happens! It deletes code, disrupts the existing code, and breaks the structure of the system. For example, we design a system, we write code, but the imports are missing, the functions are incomplete, and everything remains unfinished. I don’t know how this can be fixed. The system is amazing; everything about it is great, but there are many shortcomings that need to be addressed as soon as possible.
Especially during Python-based coding, I use compressors and agents, which are helpful to some extent, but there are still many deficiencies. The system deletes my code, and I believe this has happened in about 12 or 15 of my projects—I don’t even know anymore. I keep deleting and rewriting because it renders the projects irrecoverable. Yes, I can go back and save from history, but I constantly encounter the issue of Cloud 3.5 forgetting this part of the conversation. When I give it a command or an instruction, it starts doing it, works on it, and continues. Once it’s done, it asks, “Should I add this as well?” For instance, if I say “Yes, add it,” it writes that part as if it had never written the previous code, completely ignoring it. It either overwrites the previous code or writes the new part without any integration, connection, or functionality between them. It’s as if each interaction starts an independent session, causing everything to function as standalone and unrelated pieces.
This means I constantly have to familiarize the system with all my files and repeatedly show it every file. For example, I might already have the files, but their names are slightly different. However, it can’t detect this and says something like, “File A is needed.” Meanwhile, “File A” is already defined as “A-X” in the system, but instead of looking for “A-X,” it directly looks for “A.” When it doesn’t find “A,” it creates a new “A” system, essentially generating a duplicate file. Problems like this are numerous. The system’s ability to read and understand file structures is a significant issue.
It’s such a fantastic system that I even paid to increase my limit, and I’m considering doing so again next month. However, these problems need to be resolved as soon as possible because I can’t finish my projects due to these issues. Despite this, I acknowledge that it’s a very advanced system. But we need to develop it even further. There are 2-3 other example applications like this, but this is the one I love using the most. We are ready to provide the necessary attention and support for it. Please resolve these issues as soon as possible. I genuinely believe you can do it. If you’ve brought the project to this point, I’m sure you can take it even further successfully. I’ve also applied the latest updates, which I’d like to point out here. Please fix this as soon as possible. I’m really at my wits’ end, but I still love you guys.
