Can someone pls pls clear this up once and for all !!.
First, I’m not a hard-core Developer but like to have a “dabble” now and again
Question: When using Cursor AI with Xcode should Cursor AI Composer updates be “sync’d” in Xcode automatically? (simple Yes or NO pls)
If Yes, do any settings need changing for this to happen as its not working for me ?
If NO… #disappointing !
I’ve viewed a few YouTube videos of people “waxing lyrical” using Cursor AI to develop iOS Apps so thought I’d give it a go.
Nearly all videos say simply…
- Install Xcode
- Install Cursor AI
- Create Cursor AI account
and away you go !
I’ve done exactly that (already had Xcode installed) but hit the same issue a lot of people have posted in this forum… Cursor AI changes not reflected in Xcode (new files and folders) hence App build will fail !
To be clear… Pressing “Accept All” in Cursor AI Composer only updates existing files in Xcode and new files/folders are not added to the Xcode App Project (even though Cursor AI has added them to the file system). So Xcode isn’t picking these up automatically.
Some people in this forum say
This should work ("works for me and always has’),
Some say
This doesn’t work (“it doesn’t do it automatically and you always had to add files/folders manually”) ??
I’ve even seen people say…
“It was working then stopped, please help”
But which is it ?? No one gives a definitive answer (YES or NO) with reasons as to why it should work and things to do fix it (I’ve tried most of what I’ve found in forums with settings OR doesn’t work.
Are the people in these YouTube videos missing a huge step for the auto updating to work or has something in the Cursor AI to Xcode integration broken ?!
Lastly I’ve seen people post below as an answer to the issue but that seems a very “long winded” way to integrate both products and if this is what you need to do I will give that a pass
