Can confirm this annoys me a lot too. Seems to be linked to time since last use more than number of messages in my case.

I had 3 concurrent cursor ultra subscriptions, i cancelled them all and moved to claude code max and codex pro plan. much much cheaper as its subscription based, and no different to using cursor since i wasnt using any features after they all broke anyway, i was checking git diffs either way…
