After using Claude Code, I realise that having the chat interface with the model on the terminal is much cleaner than on the side like Cursor has. It occupies less space, and functions the exact same way. You can’t even tell you are using AI in your editor, contrary to Cursor, where half of your screen is always occupied by a chat interface.
I am using Claude Code because I ran out of requests on Cursor, and I am starting to get real loose with this setup. Ideally, what I want is to pay one subscription to Cursor and have it in my terminal as an option.
Can you guys just make Cursor CLI? Forked off of Claude Code or Gemini CLI?
I think it would also give you an edge over all other competetion, because you would have both a CLI option and a chat UI option. And in fact, you could integrate it so well as to be able to switch on the fly between CLI and chat UI, maintaining the same conversation and context etc.
Think about it!
