Cursor CMD+R still not respecting Keyboard Shorcuts config

I have CMD+R and CMD+ALT+R configured for different commands in VS Code. They normally work, but if I am in the Agent chat and I press either of those, it resets the chat, no matter what I’ve configured in Keyboard Shortcuts. This is very frustrating because it means these keybindings are effectively not remappable/usable, and when I do press this key combo, it basically clears my chat and auto-applies all changes, which is not an easily recoverable state. What is the timeline to having agent chat actually respect configured Keyboard Shortcuts?

Hi @ceptorial and welcome to Cursor Forum.

As CMR+R is used by VSCode and Cursor for many different things, you can go to Activity Bar, press > and search for Keyboard Shortcuts

There you can search for "alt+cmd+r" or "cmd+r" and find which of the actions does not match with your requirements then disable those.

I’m using default keyboard shortcuts but cant see what would be bound to those shortcuts in Chat

I went to VSCode’s Keyboard Shortcuts window, I found the configuration for CMD+R to initiate a new agent chat, and I removed it. But, it still is hijacked by the Agent chat. In other words, when you are typing in Agent chat, Cursor does NOT respect the user’s VSCode Keyboard Shortcut configuration, specifically for CMD+R and CMD+ALT+R.

There might be multiple settings for CMD+R as this is a common prefix shortcut for other shortcuts.

Hey, Cmd + R is a reserved shortcut for creating a new chat. Unfortunately, it can’t be reassigned at the moment. As a workaround, please use another shortcut.
