Cursor crashes immediately on Hyprland (Wayland)

Hey guys,
Just installed a fresh Hyprland (which uses Wayland) - moved away from my regular Gnome setup on my arch linux.
Whenever I try to open Cursor it crashes either immediately or a couple of seconds after that, with no verbose or any information whatsoever.
Has anybody come across this issue on hyprland or wayland in general?

I get a similar issue in swaywm. The .AppImage runs but when I click open folder it crashes

Verison: 0.47

I updated today and the issue has disappeared. It might have been my fresh Debian12 missing some common apt packages. Or the cursor update fixed it today.
