Cursor Design Mode

Design Mode should go beyond selecting elements and prompting the agent for every small change. Prompts are limited , working as a designers making constant micro-adjustments to typography, spacing, color, and layout is constant.

Using Jev as a decision layer, could make quick visual adjustments directly.
Changes could be applied locally, to a component, or across the design system.
Jev can determine whether a change applies to an element, component, or the wider design system.

For example, adjusting typography or spacing could automatically map to the relevant design-system value. This reduces unnecessary prompts while keeping the main Cursor model focused on larger implementation tasks. The goal is a faster loop between design decisions → system decisions → code, based on how designers actually work.

Hey, thanks for the detailed feature request. I get the core idea: you want to make visual tweaks like typography, spacing, color, and layout directly in Design Mode with a fast loop, without having to route every tiny change through a separate prompt to an agent. I watched the demo video too, it makes the need very clear.

This is a common request. Designers and front-end developers regularly ask to bring back direct visual editing in Design Mode. There’s already a main thread where this is being collected and actively discussed:

I’d suggest reposting your idea there, especially the part about change scope element vs component vs design system and mapping to tokens, since that’s a valuable addition, and leaving a like. That keeps the signal in one place and makes it easier to share with the team. I’ll pass your request along with that cluster.

sure!
