Describe the Bug
Cursor does not render bold text in the code editor.
Steps to Reproduce
- Open Cursor.
- Select “New File…” to create a file in any popular programming language (e.g., example.js for JavaScript).
- Change your theme to Solarized Light. This is a built-in theme in Cursor and VS Code, but you can use any theme that uses bold fonts.
- Solarized Light bolds keywords, so in example.js, I can just type
const foo = 'foo';to observe the bug.
Expected Behavior
In this example, the keyword “const” should be bold. The attached screenshot shows VS Code side-by-side with Cursor. You can see that VS Code has “const” bolded, while Cursor does not.

Additional Information
This issue is important for accessibility. I have a visual impairment, and bold text really helps with contrast.
Does this stop you from using Cursor
No - Cursor works, but with this issue
