Cursor does not render bold fonts in the code editor

Describe the Bug

Cursor does not render bold text in the code editor.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Open Cursor.
  2. Select “New File…” to create a file in any popular programming language (e.g., example.js for JavaScript).
  3. Change your theme to Solarized Light. This is a built-in theme in Cursor and VS Code, but you can use any theme that uses bold fonts.
  4. Solarized Light bolds keywords, so in example.js, I can just type const foo = 'foo'; to observe the bug.

Expected Behavior

In this example, the keyword “const” should be bold. The attached screenshot shows VS Code side-by-side with Cursor. You can see that VS Code has “const” bolded, while Cursor does not.

Additional Information

This issue is important for accessibility. I have a visual impairment, and bold text really helps with contrast.

Does this stop you from using Cursor

No - Cursor works, but with this issue
