Cursor fully freezes and crashes on random actions

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Cursor IDE

Describe the Bug

Hey! So basically yesterday without me updating or installing anything new within or outside of cursor I faced an issue where I wanted to delete some files from the explorer tree and when trying to do so cursor crashed. So I updated to the latest version 3.4.20-1 but that didn’t changed anything. I also dont have any extentions installed in cursors and this appeard in the middle of a session.

I also figures that it will freeze and crash when I try to revert some changes or when I want to sync some changes to github in the change tree tab… Already sent crash reports to the support but since this is really annoying I thought I may give it a shot and post it in here as well!

PS: Just wanted to copy the version out of help > version but that crashes cursor as well.

Meanwhile I fully uninstalled and reinstalled cursor but no change.

Wonder if its only me or if anybody else is facing these issues since yesterday?

kind regards
Chris

Does this stop you from using Cursor

Yes - Cursor is unusable

“I ran into a similar issue. It turned out to be a problem with the electron package. When I used the latest version (1:42), I experienced the same crash as you. However, after downgrading it to 1:41, Cursor stopped crashing.”

Will check this out later the day or tomorrow and update you! Thanks for letting me know in advance!

update: IT WORKED!!! how did you figure this out?
