Cursor ignoring new instructions in a stopped chat

Describe the Bug

In recent days, I’ve noticed that oftentimes when I stop a chat and send a prompt, Cursor is completely ignoring the new instructions and mindlessly continues whatever it was doing prior to stopping it. This is something that’s started happening this or last week.

Steps to Reproduce

Start a chat and let Cursor start doing its thing, stop it, and send a new prompt to make it do something else than it was doing prior to stopping.

Expected Behavior

Cursor follows all new instructions like before.

same this is a massive blocker. only happens to me on anthropic models i think (sonnet 4).

same here, very inconvenient to give updated instructions

Seeing the same thing here - It gets stuck after it trys and run a command - give new instructions - doesn’t see them and just trys to redo last task it was doing. Just started happening today - used cursor for 10ish hours yesterday and when i started this AM it was instantly noticeable. Upgraded from 1.0 to 1.13 to see if it would resolve - and nope. same thing.

Same here - really really frustrating. I stop it because it is going off-track. But it 100% ignores my updated request. Keeps wasting my tokens!!!

Same here

Hey team, think we had a bad backend change here, but should be resolved now!
Can anyone confirm this is working again on their end?
