Cursor is very slow on SSH server

The cursor is using a large amount of remote CPU resources, and the 128 kernel is all used up. Please open the environment variable limit to 4 kernels

Same issue here. Any gain from the AI integration is nullified by this performance issue. I know it’s not a connection issue as VS Code works perfectly fine over the same SSH connection / when connected to the same dev containers.

What is more troubling is that it used to work great. Could you revert whatever change you made that led to this state? What benefit did you get in exchange for this huge performance drop?

I gave the nightly release you link to a try. I think something is wrong with your link, this points to version 0.46.8. I tried it anyways thinking that maybe the versioning for nightly is different, but it is not useable.

I keep getting the pop up telling me that I need the dev container extension As far as I can see it is installed. Clicking on the button to install it errors out saying that it cannot find the extension in the marketplace.

This issue still hasn’t been fixed.
I don’t understand why basic and critical problems like SSH connectivity are being left unresolved while new, unnecessary features keep getting added.
If the fundamentals aren’t taken care of, then the value of your AI is greatly diminished.

The only fix that really helped was uninstalling Cursor completely from my Mac and then reinstalling everything. I’m guessing their DB gets too crowded and it leads to massive slowdowns. You do lose all chats and configuration, so that’s annoying. I couldn’t get it to work normally in any other way.

Basically (after Cursor is no longer running):
rm -rf ~/Library/Application\ Support/Cursor

rm -rf ~/.cursor

That is correct. I updated to Cursor Version 1.6.45, and the problem is NOT fixed at all. Already moving to VSCode. This should be the MOST basic functionality for any editor.

I found a 1.7.4 version. No improvements. Moving back to VS Code for now, as it is too frustrating to work with Cursor in its current state.
