Cursor keeps asking for accept in second folder in workspace

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Cursor IDE

Describe the Bug

Cursor keeps asking for accept on edits.
I am on a MacBook Pro M4 Max, and I have the latest version of Cursor. I have been using Cursor by opening one folder and then adding another folder to the same workspace. It is when I try to make edits in the second folder I add to the workspace that It keeps asking for accept.
I have even disabled the “External-File Protection.”

Steps to Reproduce

Add a second folder to a workspace and try to have the agent make edits in that second folder.

Expected Behavior

It has previously just worked, where it would just make the edits without me having to manually accept every time.

Operating System

MacOS

Does this stop you from using Cursor

Yes - Cursor is unusable

Hey, thanks for the report. This is a known issue with multi-folder workspaces. The Agent treats files in the second folder as “external,” so it asks for confirmation even when External-File Protection is turned off.

The team is aware and is working on a fix.

Temporary workaround: open each folder separately instead of adding them to one workspace. Not ideal, but it’s the only way to avoid the issue for now.
