Does this stop you from using Cursor

Yes - Cursor is unusable

Hey, thanks for the report. This is a known bug in recent Cursor versions where the agent ignores the terminal profile settings and defaults to PowerShell.

Workaround:

  • Open Cursor settings with Ctrl + Shift + J
  • Go to Chat → Inline Editing & Terminal
  • Enable “Legacy Terminal Tool”
  • Restart Cursor

This should make the agent respect your default terminal for Git Bash or WSL.

Let me know if this resolves the issue.

Hi @oooFreaKooo, this issue should be fixed in the next version of Cursor, which is rolling out shortly.
