This is a known issue with updates in Plan mode. The team is already working on a fix. Similar discussions:

We need debugging data:
- Is this a new chat or a long conversation
- 2-3 Request IDs from attempts where the plan got wiped and where whitespaces appeared
- How to get them: Getting a Request ID | Cursor Docs
- Minimal repro steps and a small repo or files with before/after .md diffs
- List of installed extensions and whether format-on-save is enabled
Workarounds for now:
- Start a new chat and save a copy of the plan .md before edits
- Apply changes through Review with manual diff approval
- Check if it reproduces on a new project branch
